She also told me I'd've days that jest went awry. Bless her heart, she must'a not figured this sorta thingy could go'n fer days, weeks, e'en months'n end.
Perhaps she imagined I'd figure that part out. Find new ways to rise 'bove 'n reinvent myself. Sure wish I'd come with'n owners manual!
Those weather folks called it "Goliath"
Thankfully, we'd firewood in the garage 'n I'd lots'f warm quilts. Had me a lil electric heater in the loo. Nothin' worse'n a crohn's flare 'n a frozen throne. We managed to keep the house 'bove freezin'. I'd stapled heavy plastic 'n quilts o'er offensive, leakin' like sieves windows 'n that dang door. Constant reminders 'f repairs that started I believe'n October 'n continue to not be completed... Yepperz, this place's bein' held together with duct tape, quilts, plastic 'n staples. What a lucky gal I am! I'm a 'glass half full' kinda gal fer the most part. Surely tested my patience 'n honestly, my give a dang was near passed the road 'f no return when that butane hauler finally showed up late Monday 'fternoon.
Thousands lost power in town 'n I surely felt fer those folks! Momma, the aunt 'n eldest son were without fer 'bout 14 hours with no heat source available. We survived it all though - horses faired purty dang well considerin' the conditions although Mr. Cisco didn't seem too impressed with his nearly 6' snowdrift...
Lots'f folks lost cattle durin' this. The dairy industry's already claimin' 't least 20,000 cows 'f theirs perished. Their poor souls frozen under snowdrifts. Aint got a total count yet's to how many thousands'f cattle perished durin' all this. No doubt the ranchers still aint found all theirs yet...
'n what 'bout the other critters? Momma's pup brought in 3 frozen birds't her place. Thankfully I aint had none'f that, course there's cats outdoors who might'a tended to such.
Idle hands...
This is jest a wee samplin'. I reckon I've made 'bout 30'r so 'f those bowl cosies. Dang that YouTube 'n those handy lil videos!
