Whilst shy ‘f folks, these brilliantly colored birds’ll not be intimidated by the furious lil hummers who desperately tried to defend their sugared water. Only solution to keep the peace was to add more feeders. Which worked out well ‘til late last spring when a lil female Red House Finch figured out if’n she’d hop down onto the feeders, they’d slosh out that sweet schtuff. T’weren’t long ‘n the rest ‘f the finches were doin’ the same…’n those sparrows’d joined ‘em by late summer.
They keep me busy, fillin' 'n cleanin' those feeders now from early spring through summer'n into the early autumn months.
This year, seems this lil fella 'twas jest passin' through - perhaps they didn't like all the competition?
