But, that aint what this'd be 'bout. Seems I've been mis-identifyin' the birds out here fer some time now. Do ya reckon they're gigglin' 'hind my back 'bout such? I'm strivin' to learn what to call 'em 's I run 'round tryin' to snap pic's like a crazed gal. Joined me one'f those birdin' thingies 'n boy howdy, I've gotten so many 'f my feathered friends named wrong't aint e'en funny. E'en found out that I've more species'n I'd thought durin' these winter months.
Jest fascinatin', I'm tellin' ya!
Meet some'f my feathered, misnamed friends ~
Found one! Not the best'n the world, but what a cutie, eh? (note to self: don't be monkeyin' 'round with yer aperture when yer vision 'tis wonky - makes fuzzy messes outta my feathered friends)
I've been callin' the Bullock's Orioles Tanagers. The adorable, yet elusive lil Yellow Warblers Yellow Finches. What I thought to be large Warblers turned out to be either Northern Flickers 'r Curved-billed Thrashers. Sigh...Why's 't gotta be so complicated?
'tis 'come my 'mission' to figure out who all'd be comin' to my lil sanctuary. Amazin' how when ya really pay 'ttention to 'em how's ya can tell 'em 'part. Certain discolorations'n a wing, an odd splotch the others aint got, etc.
Do ya enjoy watchin' the birds? 't times they're great comic relief. Other times, not so much. The hawk'n the pictures (Sharp-shinned 'r juvenile Cooper's?) 'tis been hangin' 'round quite a bit lately, terrorizin' the smaller birds 'n killin' the Eurasian Doves. Saddens the heart to see such, but that'd be their job - to keep the population 'f the smaller birds'n check.
The Round'p!
